Don't know what to do in the Ebro Delta in winter? No problem, because right now we are going to give you some ideas to enjoy this season in a particular way and embraced by an immense natural beauty.

3 perfect plans if you don't know what to do in the Ebro Delta in winter

In the summer, the Delta is a perfect destination for nature lovers and good food. And what about the winter? Basically the same as any other time of the year. And of the many virtues that we could mention of this idyllic place, now is the time to highlight the magic that it gives off in any season, as each one of them presents many possibilities.

Going back to winter, this season colours the whole territory with incredible sunsets, becoming an incredibly seductive alternative for those who want to enjoy the "cold" (in inverted commas, because you must know that the temperature is quite pleasant and does not go down too much) far from the typical white and mountainous winter landscapes. And as the climate is pleasant, we can comfortably enjoy the following activities, either with family, friends or with yourself.

Observación de aves

Or as it is more fashionable, birdwatching. With 320 km2, the Ebro Delta Natural Park is the largest wetland area in Catalonia, constituting one of the most important aquatic habitats in the western Mediterranean. This makes the Delta home to a rich biodiversity, among which the large influx of birds stands out, with winter being the best season of all to see a wide range of birds.

To do birdwatching in the Ebro Delta you don't need any permission and it's free. However, please remember that this is a beautiful and fragile ecosystem, so it is very important that you respect the nesting and wintering areas. Here are some birding routes and some practical advice

Bicycle tours

One of the peculiarities of the Ebro Delta is its immense flat surface, perfect for bicycles. Between rice fields; along the riverbank, sheltered by poplars and following the course of the Ebro; bordering the bays... You can do so many routes! Take advantage of these landscapes to exercise, eliminate stress, feel better and connect with nature and yourself.

Excursions in the Delta

If you have already been bird watching and cycling and you don't know what to do in the Ebro Delta in winter, a very interesting possibility is to discover the different municipalities: Deltebre, l'Ampolla, Sant Carles de la Ràpita, Amposta, Sant Jaume d'Enveja... Each municipality has its own charm, so you will always enjoy new experiences. Walk through its streets, discover its corners, learn about its history, visit its shops, taste the local gastronomy with seasonal and local products...

And if you allow us, a very careful recommendation: in winter, take advantage of any occasion to contemplate the sunsets. Thanks to the play of wind and clouds, these are undoubtedly the most beautiful sunsets of the year.

Now that you know what to do in the Ebro Delta in winter and how welcoming this territory is, we will be happy to help you find the best house.
